Spine Candle

The very first time I saw you Harry, I recognized you immediately. Not by your scar, by your eyes. They’re your mother; Lily’s. Yes, I knew her. You mother was there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty in others, even, and perhaps most especially, when that person couldn’t see it in themselves. Your father, James, however, had a certain, shall we say, talent for trouble. A talent, rumor has it, he passed onto you. You’re more like them then you know, Harry. In time you’ll come to see just how much.

Inspired by the spine candles seen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban this 3D printed candle holder is produced from an excellent model by cbabbage which is available for free here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:27560.

Printed in 6 parts in PLA bioplastic the stand is around 30cms or 1ft in height and weighs around 1/4 of a kilo (over 8oz) although this will vary print by print as I change print settings. It is designed to take a standard LED tealight. DO NOT and I cannot stress this enough. DO NOT USE A LIVE FLAME. It may well melt and could also burn, fire kills.

The spine can be printed in any colour and will accept most paints with a primer layer so will be adaptable by those of an artistic bent to be more bone-like. I am not artistic in this way and the holder is supplied unpainted.

There may well be variations in product colour due to photography. I always print from the same brand and if possible the same roll so colour changes within the piece will not occur however.

The sections are joined to the best of my skill with CA glue however seam lines will be visible. This is unavoidable.

Tea light is NOT INCLUDED.
